About the artist
Jordi June
I paint the light I can't stop looking at — a field going pink at dusk, water changing color with the tide, a branch of blossoms holding the last of the sun.
Working primarily in oil and acrylic, I paint both outdoors and from memory. Much of my work begins on location, sketching fast to catch a particular hour before it's gone, then finishing in the studio where color and mood can settle.
My subjects are usually quiet ones: landscapes, coastlines, gardens, and the occasional figure. What ties them together is a love of color and a belief that ordinary places are worth stopping for.
Paintings are available to purchase directly, and I take a small number of commissions each year for collectors who want something made for their own space.
